Author Guidelines

Manuscripts will be received within these two categories:

  1. Research article: contribution based on an original and unpublished study, generally eight or more pages long.
  2. Scientific Note: We accept short manuscripts of less than eight pages.

Works that, being able to integrate as a unit, are presented separately in the form of small contributions or numbered notes will not be accepted. Likewise, preliminary or unfinished contributions that are feasible to finish in the medium or short term will not be accepted.

Ethics criteria

Flora Marina maintains the highest standards regarding publication ethics. In case of ethical misconduct, the editor may carry out plagiarism inspections at any time after receiving the manuscript and it will be rejected.

The corresponding author declares that:

1) The work is original and unpublished, free of plagiarism, has not been published and is not under consideration for publication in another journal.

2) All authors authorize the publication of their article in Flora Marinas.

3) All people who contributed intellectually and work have been appropriately acknowledged or included as co-authors.

4) All addresses and institutional affiliations are complete and correct.

5) All national laws relating to research have been complied with.

 6) The sources of financing and the conflicts of interest have been duly recognized and

7) permission is obtained from employers, persons or companies that have intellectual property or copyright, and financial sources, among others, to publish all parts of the manuscript. A published article that is later found not to meet all of these criteria may be withdrawn or, at the sole discretion of the journal, a correction may be published.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Artículos

Research articles report findings of original research in an accurate, clear, and concise manner.

Research Notes

Research notes report results that are of particular importance in science and merit prompt publication.
